![]() New Year...New TracksHey Everyone...
I hope you had a happy new year and a Very Merry Christmas! Ever since the ball dropped, it's been crazy in my world. We just got done with another tracking session this last weekend and it was amazing. The great thing is I was given the opportunity to co-produce it! I had the freedom to choose the players, the engineers, the studio and more. What I found was that producing is a blast and its new part of music I have come to love. In my opinion, every artist/band should be as involved as they possibly can when it comes to the music. In Nashville, it's become a natural thing to let other's handle your sound and it never comes out the way you intended it to come out. I believe that the artists "sound" should encompass not only the raw sound of a song, but the attitude the artist or band had when they wrote it. Otherwise, you're just getting another song that was made from a formula. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of instant music. The artist's out there that I look up to have always put as much of themselves into their music as they possibly can and that’s what it’s all about. Love of music...not everything else that distracts from it. Well...I guess I kinda jumped on a soapbox there for a second...so back to what I was talking about. So, in the next month we'll be finishing up these last four tracks and hopefully have them for everyone to check out soon. Love ya guys and I hope to hear from ya sometime soon! - Keith Monday, November 19th 2007Wow...It's been a while since I let you all know what's going on so I had to fill you in. So since my last journal entry, I've been recording, writting and playing shows. I played my first show in Phoenix and met a ton of great new people. The show went well for the most part but I had to deal with a little drama and it wasn't completely what I expected. I did get to do a meet and greet with fans of KNIX in Phoenix and everyone was amazing. The support was huge and I look forward to playing more out there. For this show, I added a couple new guys to my band and assigned the band leader role to long time friend and drummer, Brian Rosser. He did a great job of selecting the right group of guys for this show and from here on out he's got my support when picking a band. We'll be playing a lot more together in the futrue and hopefully by next summer, we'll all be on a major tour so that you can all come out and see us in your area. I hope you all have an amazing Thanksgiving Holiday. I know I'm Thankful to have some of the greatest fans out there.
God Bless... Keith Wednesday, August 1st 2007So the last month has been extremely exciting. I've gotten back in the studio and recorded three new songs that I'm very proud of and can't wait to show them to everyone. The musicians I got to play with were out of this world. Troy Lancaster, who played on such records as Brooks & Dunn's Hillbilly Deluxe and Trace Adkin's Dangerous man, lead the band and played the lead electric parts that brought a true country rockin' feel to the mix. Eddie Bayers, who won the CMA Drummer of the year 13 years in a row, brought even more to the table with his solid feel and sound. Behind the board was Kevin Beamish (mixing engineer), who mixes all of Kenny Chesney's records. Just having him there was electric and I now see why he is one of the best in country music. The rest of the band consited of guys and girls that have played on some of the best records to hit the shelves in the last ten years. Running the show was producer Richard Donahue and he did an amazing job bringing it all together. All in all it was one of the best experiences of my life and I can't wait to go back in! Thursday, June 28th 2007So this is my first journal post and I guess there's a ton to say, but I'll try to keep this one short. The past year has been hectic! Trying to get everything take off and doing everything I can to get this train rolling. In the past few months I've been writting a ton, playing shows here and there and getting everything set for the next level. I've been working with my management on some very exciting stuff I can't wait to share with ya. I don't want to let the cat out of the bag just yet so hang tight and you'll hear all about the latest news right here on my new website. I'll try to keep posting a journal up here with pictures so you guys can get a behind the scenes look at the studio and a whole lot more. Till then...
